Big changes on the horizon

Happy Thursday everyone! Well, 2017 is starting off with a bang and going amazing... how about for you? There are a lot of changes for me personally and I wanted to let everyone know what is going on!

Photography is my passion. It has been a constant source of joy for me for the last 4 years. It is what drives me to be the person I am. 3 years ago I decided I needed to move out of my home and get a studio. It was a fun and very scary transition. I had ups and downs but for the most part looking back it was mostly ups. A lot changes in 3 years. The market for photographers has changed A LOT. It seems like these days the amount of photographers has tripled and not many people need an "in studio" photographer much anymore. Other than my newborns and once in awhile milestone session my studio goes unused because I'm outside all of the time! Even for sessions for 6 months and up, a lot of my clients want outside sessions. I am so happy for all of the new photographers out there. It is an exciting business to be in and I am so happy for all of the messages I get by people who were inspired so they want to open their own business. I am so thankful for my loyal clients who have been coming to me and stick by me, and refer so many new clients to me, even with all of the new businesses popping up.

I'm sure you read the above paragraph and thought "oh no! she is going out of business!" That is not the case at all. I will always be a photographer! But for now, I am saying goodbye to my studio. My lease is up in March and I will not be renewing. I can no longer justify paying for a space that big when I use it 4-5 times a month only since I'm on location so much. I am actively looking for a smaller space as 1200 square feet is not necessary for newborns. I don't want to jump into the first place I can find, I want to be in love with the space so I feel comfortable staying there for 3-5+ years. I have a very specific idea in mind for what I want next and when I find it I will just know!

So what does this mean for the near future of Foxy Photography you ask? I will be doing Easter mini sessions outdoors this year, those dates will be released as I know them. I am 90% sure I will not be doing the Easter bunny event unless I can find an awesome place outside, again that will be announced for sure yes or no soon. With less expenses going to the studio I can reduce my prices! YAY for you all! (new pricing will roll out in March) All sessions from the middle of March on will either have to be done at an outside location, or in my client's homes. It is illegal in the city of Las Vegas to run a photography business from your home unless you are zoned in a commercial and residential neighborhood which I am not so I cannot use my home. Newborn sessions can be done in home with props, or lifestyle. Maternity can be done in client's homes or outdoors, same with family and milestone sessions. Boudoir sessions will all be done in hotels/condos unless you have a house you are comfortable doing a session in.

What changes am I going through.... I am scared, sad, happy, and feeling blessed all at one time. I'm scared to not have a "second home" to rely on in bad weather, I'm sad to be leaving my first studio behind, but I'm so happy to have a new adventure to look forward to. I have my health, my beautiful family and a business that has allowed me to meet and become friends with so many amazing people. I will be focusing for the next few months on the things I love to do the most and not taking sessions unless I have my full heart and soul in it. I have been on a health journey for the last 3 months due to some medical issues that arose last fall and it has been amazing. I finally have started to love myself again for who I am and I'm getting strong and a lot of that has a lot to do with Raw Fitness (If you haven't heard of it, check it out... AMAZING) I have also started selling Lularoe which I am super excited about! 6 months out of the year Photography is booming and I am crazy busy, but the other half of the year it is very slow so I needed something to do in those months and Lularoe was the answer. If you have no idea what I am talking about it is the most amazing clothing I have ever worn! It is crazy comfortable and fits all body shapes. If you want more info you can find it at  www.facebook.com/groups/lularoeabbiefox So.... that's a lot of info for those of you that didn't know what was going on! I know a lot of you already knew I'd be moving spaces but didn't know details  because honestly I didn't really know what I wanted to do.

Anyway, I promised info about Valentine Sessions and here it is! The discounted sessions of $95 will only be done on Jan28/29th. All other sessions will have to be scheduled on another day at the full rate of $150. My weekday availability is next to nothing right now, so book quickly if you need a weekday spot! The sessions will each be 30 minutes and will include all of the images I edit. This could be 5 it could be 25, it will all depend on the cooperation of your child. I will have two backdrops which are not here yet, but pay attention to my facebook page for when I get them and can photograph them... as always they will be adorable! Here is an example of one of the cuties last year :) follow this link to purchase your spot! Make sure you purchase the time you want! http://www.foxyphotographylv.com/valentines/
